Just yesterday, Madison started second grade and Max first. They were so excited to go back. They picked out their own clothes, and woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. Although, I still think Max looks quite sleepy in this picture and kind of resembles the monkey on his shirt. I was
definitely one of those proud mothers, waving wildly, with my camera in hand as the bus pulled away...but don't think you'll catch me sporting, "I am a Proud Parent of a Student at *** Elementary!" bumper sticker on my car (Not that there's anything wrong with that!). I'm sure every mom feels the same when they send their kids off to school... pride, excitement, anxiety, sadness, and all the while have a little prayer in your heart that they know how much they're loved, and that they'll always be protected and watched over. It's always hard to let them go, no matter how old they are.
On a lighter note...I remember being in second grade...
*I was in Mrs.
Hunsaker's class.
*I mispelled Hawaii on a spelling test.
*Had a crush on one of the
Brians (We'll just leave that one a mystery!).
*I got bit by a girl...yes, I said BIT by a girl!
*Loved playing heads-up seven-up in class.
*Was scared to death to use the restroom in case "bloody Mary" was in there.
Aaahhh, the good
ol' days! If only my kids can look back on their years of school with a smile on their face and hopefully the good memories will outweigh the bad!
