Day Seven...

Gift: Cornell Shirt

I have given you my adoration for your very big heart,
But lets not forget to mention, you are incredibly smart.
I had no idea during our college dating days,
You were humble and modest, never wanting any praise.

You treasure up knowledge; learning is what you desire,
Whatever you put you mind too, is what you'll aspire.

You worked so hard to earn your Master's Degree,
We were there at your graduation, shouting with glee.

Now you go to work; you have little mouths to feed,
You sacrifice so much for whatever we might need.

Your accomplishments are many, I am so filled with pride,
I knew I'd never have to worry when you made me your bride!

Day Six...

[Clint's mom, Madison, Kathleen, Timothy, Max, and Clint]
(Clint taking the kids to a museum, so I could go out to lunch with my girlfriends.)

Gift: Plate of Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies (Yum, Yum!!!)

You're always lifting up others, and so willing to serve,
That's why I made these cookies; it's what you deserve.

A life full of service, it comes so natural to you,
You're always willing to help, it's just what you do.

You are quick to forgive, giving people a second try,
When you see someone who's in need, you never pass them by.

Looking for good in others, you have such a big heart,
A good example to me, to remind me to do my part.

But the very best service happens within these family walls,
You're always picking up stuffed animals and many toy balls.

You are always so thoughtful asking whatever I may need,
Willing to take all the kids, even if it's just so I can read.

These cookies like you are always so very sweet,
Accept my thanks to you, and enjoy your little treat!

Day Five...

Gift: Romantic Surprise

You still love to court me and make me feel great,
You know how to romance, and plan a special date.

Phantom of the Opera and dinner for two,
That night was so perfect, spending it with you.

I loved being with you in big ol' New York City,
Anytime I'm with you, I feel so special and pretty .

You never make me feel like a worn out mother of four,
You make me feel like a queen and always so much more.

How lucky I must be to have a husband like you,
To keep our love burning bright, everyday brings something new.

You're thoughtful and romantic, in so many ways,
I can't wait to celebrate our love in six more days.

Day Four...

Gift: Sheet Music
You have a love for music, you can play any tune,
You love to play the piano morning, night, and noon.
Back when we were dating, in that Southern Utah city,
Listening to you play, made me like you and feel giddy.
Your fingers touch the keys and make such a pretty sound,
Whenever we hear you play, we gather all around.
Your music fills our home with comfort, peace, and love,
This talent started long ago, a gift from up above.
You love to play the piano any chance you can,
Move over Billy Joel; Clint's my "Piano Man!"

Day Three...

[My handsome man is second from the right (my two handsome men). This is the LDS Cornell Intramural Softball Team: The Champions!]

Gift: Container of Racquetballs

What can I say about my athletic guy,
There isn't a sport you're unwilling to try.
From soccer to basketball and everything in between,
You're a competitive one, but never mean.

You take care of yourself with your active lifestyle,
It shows in everything you do, you go the extra mile.
We are an active family, always playing for fun,
You're even a good sport when you score none. :)

Your bulging muscles pop through your sweater,
You're too hot to handle, what could be better!
I love that as a couple we are athletic and sporty,
Let's hope it pays off, and we live to be two-hundred and forty!

Day Two...

Gift: Framed picture of our kids

A wonderful father, I knew you would be from the start,
Watching you with our kids has captured my heart.

From wrestling, to reading, and outdoor activities,
You always have our kids saying, "Play more, please!".

You sacrifice so much, for our little kids of four,
They run and they jump, when you walk in the door.

How lucky they are to have a father like you,
They know they will be supported in all that they do.

I couldn't have asked for a better partner in crime,
I am so grateful to raise our kids with you over time.

The very best dad, that's what you are,
The best in the world, the best by far!

Countdown...

Because you mean so much to me,

I've made a countdown to our Anniversary.

Every day you will receive a little treat,

I'm hoping you will think it's kind of neat.

These little gifts represent why I love you,

And show my appreciation for all that you do.

Here's the first day, it is number one,

Eleven more days are yet to come...

Gift: Bag of Peanut Butter M&M's

These M&M's were there the first day we met,

You popped them in my mouth over a bet.

An instant connection is what we found,

Eight years later and I'm still around.

My very best friend is what I found in you,

You make me feel special, in all that you do.

These past years together have been an adventure, so fun,

Let's keep it exciting, I'm in it for the long run!
