Imagination...

"Oatmeal Man Puppet", came to life the other morning during breakfast. This little guy entertained Chase for a couple of hours. It always amazes me to see life's little wonders through a child's eyes.

Sitting up. Not quite crawling...not even close. And a whole lotta teething.

OBX Thanksgiving

I had to start with a picture of our pea. She is getting so big and is such a love bug. I can't get enough of her.
This year we spent a week at Outer Banks, NC for Thanksgiving with friends. We rented a beach house with a handful of other families and spent our days on the beach. We were also able to check out a couple of the historic lighthouses in the area. The one below is the Currituck. Here are some facts...
Number of steps: 214, Height to focal plane of lens: 158 feet, Height to top of roof: 162 feet, Number of bricks: approximately one million, Thickness of wall at base: 5 feet 8 inches, Thickness of wall at parapet: 3 feet

Of course the boys couldn't get through Thanksgiving day without a turkey bowl. Even the little ones wanted in on the action.

Clint and I had a chance to get to the beach by ourselves...it's not what you're thinking! We took a two man kayak out for a spin and only tipped twice. It was such a rush...although I have to admit I now know why they have the term, "You swear like a sailor!" I know...I couldn't help it!

This lighthouse is Bodie (pronounced "body") Island Lighthouse. Here are some facts...
The current Bodie Island Lighthouse is the third that has stood in this vicinity of Bodie Island on the Outer Banks in North Carolina and was built in 1872. It stands 156 feet tall.

Here is a shot of the 10-bedroom beach house. We packed in 7 families (14 adults and 24 kids!!)
Madison LOVED the water. She was a natural on the boogie board and even took a spin in the kayak with Clint.

Clint doing a little skim boarding.

We had such an amazing time and the week went by way too fast. We are looking forward to next year!

Just a Little Bit Martha...

Here's a big SORRY to my handful of followers out there (mom), for the long gap in blogging. It's been one of those times when I feel like my life has been crazy, but if you were to ask me what I've been doing, I'd have to reply, "I really don't know..."

So this past Saturday I got to step out of mommy world into Martha world for a bit and let my creative energy flow. A wonderful woman from my church took time to teach us how to combine a little bit of pine, a long stretch of wire, and a WHOLE LOTTA LOVE and you get this big beauty! She made it look so easy and it was. I have been debating on whether to add a bow or not...what do you think?

Deer in the Headlights...

I love that our lil pea always looks like a deer in the headlights whenever I take her picture. I can't believe how fast she is growing. She's coming up on 7months. FINALLY one of our kids has my baby blues!

On your mark, get set, GO!

Much to my surprise, my lovely husband decided to sign us up to run a 5K together. At first I was excited, considering I have been talking to him the last couple of months about starting some hobbies together (such as running). Then reality hit...I hadn't exercised for about a month and lets just say I didn't eat the healthiest while we were on vacation. So I thought no big deal, it can't be that bad, only three miles, plus it was for a good cause (cancer research). So on a typical chilly morning here in the east, we strapped on our running shoes and gave it a go...

NO I am not really this white, I am pretty pasty...but not this WHITE!!! The chickadee taking the picture had the flash on.

Here we are after the race.

We gave it our best and finished in 27 min. (Not too fast, but not too slow!)

and the First Place Ribbon goes to.....

My Super-Duper Husband!

No he didn't finish first, but he gets a Gold Star in my book for running with me the whole way(even though he could have left me in the dust), and letting me cross the finish line before him, because he always puts me first. Here's to many more races to come....

Mr Incredible

Look who I found having breakfast at my house...
He got caught red-handed with his hand in the cereal. Aren't super hero's supposed to be good guys?

Wedding...

Here are some pictures of the family while we were at my bro-in-laws wedding.

Aubrey's thumb is ALWAYS in her mouth...cute now, not so cute when she gets older.

Chase was being a stink and didn't want to be in the pictures.

Finally, I got him to sit still...

How handsome is my Clint-ly...lets just say it melts my heart to see him with our girls!

Loved these pictures...so typical of Madison to pose for the pictures and the boys were obviously distracted. Love weddings!

New do...

I pretty much gave up on blogging for a while. We have been out of town and I wanted to focus all my time on family and friends, but I just had to show you how cute Maddy's hair turned out. My sweet, little girl has been growing her hair for over a year in hopes of donating it, so while we were gone she finally got her wish. I loved her hair long, but I think this is perfect! She looks older, don't you think...

Just Chillin'

I can't get enough of seeing Aubrey sit in her Bumbo. Her little, squatty body is too much...
